November - Melbourne Cup - Spring Racing Carnival
This is held annually on the first Tuesday in November. It is a premier horse racing event and the whole of Australia famously stops for this race.

December - Carols by Candlelight
An outdoor event held in the Myer Music Bowl in the Botanical Gardens, where people join to celebrate Christmas by singing under the stars by candlelight.
